Where institutions lean versus where retail leans, in one number. A gauge, not a forecast.
Institutional Money: weekly net flow into US spot Bitcoin ETFs, scaled so $2B in a week reads +100 or -100. This scale is a starting point we will refine as history builds.
Positioning: big-money stock positioning from the CFTC (hedge funds versus asset managers in S&P 500 futures), ranked against at least a year of its own history. Weekly and delayed by design. Hedge funds are normally net short here, so the raw level alone says little. That is why it is ranked against its own history.
Retail Mood: the AAII bull-bear spread (US stocks), scaled so a 40-point spread reads +100 or -100.
The Hollow Gap: Positioning minus Retail Mood, so both sides are about US stocks. Positive means big money is more bullish than retail; negative means retail is more bullish. Institutional Money tracks Bitcoin ETFs and is shown on its own. Gauges show "Calibrating" until a verified, dated reading is loaded. Educational only, not financial advice.
